Mike Latcha - ”This Hammond is Tearing My Head Off & I LOVE It”
Thursday Oct 05, 2023
Thursday Oct 05, 2023
Guitarist/singer/producer/songwriter Mike Latcha swung by the Outer Limits Lounge to hang out on stage with Jeff and Chad, talking about his origins as a musician and how he got into audio engineering. Mike has been "on the scene," so to speak, for nearly 20 years, going back to the mid-2000s with indie rock band Freer, and then later with the psychedelic-rock band Electric Lion Soundwave Experiment. LATELY, Mike's been very busy, after 10+ years serving as a teacher with the School of Rock in Rochester, he's also joined the party-rock band The Beggars and started a new project with musician Alice Sun, known as Sonic Smut. We talk about all of that and so much more! Thanks for listening!

”Ghost Nights” with Emily Rose
Thursday Sep 28, 2023
Thursday Sep 28, 2023
Singer/songwriter Emily Rose joins Chad and Jeff inside the Outer Limits Lounge to talk about some of her favorite artists of all time, all of whom are, specifically, dearly departed. That's because Emily hosts a monthly show at the Ghost Light in Hamtramck, officially called "Ghost Night at the Ghost Light," where she performs two sets, with one set dedicated to covers of a featured artist from the recent or distant past, such as Gordon Lightfoot, or Tom Petty; the second set of the night features some of Emily's brilliant original works, including songs like "Alma" and "Shoebox Island." Find all of Emily's released recordings HERE.
On today's episode, though, we're getting ready for Emily's upcoming Ghost Night, on October 11, paying homage to the songs of Elliott Smith, on the 20th anniversary of his passing.

Currently, her drummer and backing vocalist is Michelle Thibodeau, but the band got started with drummer Samantha Linn. You can hear the whole story on this podcast, including all the lore behind Stacey's Punk Rock BBQ events, and details about the upcoming album release party for Dear Darkness.

We have flash backs to the Blind Pig, alleyway antics, bluegrass and rockabilly, and quite a bit of tangents that involve tacos, hockey, and Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys. We also talk quite a bit about the Prude Boys forthcoming new full length album, out in October on Outer Limits Lounge Records, titled GREATEST HITS.

Craig Brown - ”Part One: Cheese Bun”
Thursday Aug 24, 2023
Thursday Aug 24, 2023
Singer/songwriter Craig Brown visits the upstairs of Outer Limits for a laid back conversation with Chad and Jeff about touring, guitar playing, influences, and his previous musical exploits in bands like Terrible Twos, Liquor Store, and the Kelly Jean Caldwell. Craig is the lead singer/guitarist of the Craig Brown Band, and they recently finished their second-full length, Let's Never Leave This Filthy World, which is set to be released before the end of the summer.
But, this being the summertime, it was considerably hot up there and it wound up frying our laptop a couple different times during the recording. So, we wrapped up THIS chat before we EVEN got the opportunity to ask, in detail, about Craig's new album. So, expect THAT in part two. Nevertheless, we hope you enjoy THIS conversation, in which we talk about cheese buns, rock pants, and leaving your shoes behind while on the road.
