Ryan Dillaha - "That Certainly IS a Reference to Walt Whitman!"

This week, Chad and Jeff welcome an esteemed and established songwriter, wordsmith and guitarist, Ryan Dillaha, joining us to talk about his several solo albums and various other projects (like The Miracle Men) and musical adventures (gigging in bars, house-shows, and what-not). Dillaha comes from a working-class family, tying back to the River Rouge Steel Plant, and while he's able to riff with the best of the bar-side riff-raff, he's also a certified person of letters, a scholar, a teacher, a poet. And his voice just might break your heart. 

 

 

Lauren Mercury - "Emphasis on the PARTY"

Chad and Jeff welcome Lauren Mercury into the bar to chat about two of the unique bands that she plays in, including the Detroit Party Marching Band and Troy Gregory & the Mercury Gauntlett! CHECKER - "BFFR"

This week, at the Outer Limits Lounge, Chad and Jeff welcomed Cinquex and McKenna of the rock duo CHECKER. McKenna plays drums and sings lead vocals, while Cinquex is on guitar and backing vocals. The energetic pair of musicians share their excitement for music, as well as several entertaining tangents about movies, golf, Sigourney Weaver, and more! Lost Episodes: Sean Clancy

This week, we're digging up one more episode from our "lost" archives--a conversation with Sean Clancy, longtime bassist of Child Bite. This is a punk/metal band formed by Shawn Knight back in 2005, and they've since released more than a dozen albums and EPs and toured the U.S. with notable acts like Down, Voivod, Negative Approach and Phil Anselmo (of Pantera). Clancy's been a member of the band since mid-2007, making him the longest-tenured member, other than its founder, Knight.

The Lost Episodes: Dave Shettler

Here's another episode from our "lost" archives: Dave Shettler visited Chad's old house back in 2019 to talk with us about music. I wish I could be more specific about that, but frankly this is a wide-ranging philosophical discussion about so many facets of music, the musician's life, the creative process, (and not to mention a bunch of crazy anecdotes), that the best way to sum it up is to simply say it's about... music.
