This week, Eric Allen from Loose Koozies swings by to tell us about his band's forthcoming album, Passing Through You. Eric and Jeff go waaay back, to the late 00's, when they were both writers at a now defunct local music magazine, and they've been friends ever since. But, we're also having a splendid conversation about both Eric's own journey through music and the ongoing journey of Loose Koozies, which also features Pete Ballard, Erin Davis, Nick German, and Audrey Moran.
Their release party is coming up on December 7 at..., where else, but: The Outer Limits Lounge!

We talk about their first EP, their newest recordings, and the adrenaline of performing live. We also talk quite a bit about Halloween, coffee, soup, basements, and who knows what else! Tune in! https://zemdetroit.bandcamp.com/album/demos

Passenger Recovery
Wednesday Oct 02, 2024
Wednesday Oct 02, 2024
This week, Chad and Jeff visited the new Passenger Recovery community center on Caniff, where they interviewed the organization's director, Christopher Tait, and their director of programming, Bryan Wolf. They talked about the origins and mission of Passenger, as well as a lot of new developments over the last couple of years; both Tait and Wolf shared their own stories as well as their musical backgrounds.
We talked a lot about their upcoming Guided Music Listening program (hosted at Passenger Recovery) on Saturday, October 6th at 2pm: Innovation and Revolution – Polish Music from Medieval to Modern.
We didn't get a chance to feature this on the episode, but Passenger is also partnering with Metropolis
Records to increase awareness and advocate for support for those struggling with addiction and/or Substance Use Disorder (SUD) within the music industry. More details are forthcoming, so make sure you either visit Passenger's community center in person, contact them via email, or follow them on socials. The hope, for this new campaign, is to help people heal from whatever battle they may be struggling with internally by de-stigmatizing Mental illness, offering resources and support information, and using music as a pathway to healing.
